The Paediatric Centre in Goderich is co-funded by the European Union - EU Delegation to Sierra Leone

A feeding programme was established, to prevent and treat malnutrition by providing treatment for malnourished children as well as hygiene and nutritional education for mothers.
Malnourished children are fed with a hypercaloric and hyperproteic ready-to-use food, locally prepared with ingredients that can be easily found in the country and that are easy to preserve.
More than 50 children are visited daily by EMERGENCY's staff.
Since April 2015, EMERGENCY is involved in the three-year project "Paediatric health care in Sierra Leone: a network for service delivery and coordination among civil society organization, local authority and government institution", co-financed by the European Union - EU Delegation to Sierra Leone. The project supports the activities of the Pediatric Centre of Goderich, and promotes health education sessions in schools in the Western Area Rural District, the district surrounding Freetown. The program was developed in collaboration with the local health district (Western Area Rural District Council) and with "Precious Gems International Rescue Mission", a voluntary organization of Sierra Leone.
